Ms. Magoo

Now Pink has glasses and I have 2 little girls with 'four eyes.'

They rock it!

Shouldn't surprise me any.  Their Mom is horrifically near-sighted.  When I wake up in the morning, fumbling around to find my coke-bottle-bottom glasses in my blurred world I can't help but sing the Mr. Magoo theme song in my head.

So, I've shared it below for all those of my generation who grew up on Underdog, Rocky and Bullwinkle, and Mr. Magoo.  Ya know, before there were cell phones, blue tooth, remote controls, call waiting, DVRs, blogs, laptops, cordless phones, and mircrowave ovens.  My kids call them the prehistoric days.

But there were some kick-ass Saturday morning cartoons though.   Even though you only got like 4 stations plus UHF (which required you to get up and manually turn the dial on your set) they were da bomb!

Oh, yes. On all of it! How about Wonderama?

And those glasses are so darn cute. My little brown owl frames were NOT!

Wonderama? No, I don't remember that one! what a deprived childhood i led.

and if my "Tink" found little brown owl frames she'd be wearing them too - she's so obsessed with owls! lol!

Ah, those were the days, weren't they? She looks lovely in her glasses and I swear, my girls love theirs and treat them like just another fashion accessory.

oh yes kari - they are absolutely a fashion accessory. Pink has been DYING for glasses for a year now! i feel like telling her the novelty will wear off real soon after your eyes deteriorate over the years and you're practically legally blind.

funny how as my 1st and 3rd graders get glasses im in need for the lil old lady bifocals!! :(

I got glasses when I was 8. My sister was 9.

They say that infants using a nightlight at night promotes nearsightedness. Something about the growth of blood vessels in the eye. Pure darkness is supposed to be healthier. My mother blamed me and told me my nearsightedness was due to too much comic-book reading.
