Three of the girls have officially started soccer season, so I find myself sitting on a blanket in the freshly mowed grass by the little orange cones four days a week watching them learn ball skills and scrimmage in anticipation for the season which begins September 8th.
Little Rella at 4 is playing on her first team and, as a soccer family and a total sap, seeing her in her little shin guards and size 11 cleats dribbling the ball around the field is a rush of pride and a tug at the heart strings that starts the eyes misting.
Pink started playing when she was 4 and Tink started last year at 5. Now, Rella joins the mix and with them all in different leagues on different teams I find myself at the field Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
It's a big fat time commitment for sure, but it's a great way for them to get a little exercise and meet friends and future classmates so I'm a big fan.
Eat your heart out Mia Hamm....
... or not.
As you can see, scoring during the game is not nearly as much fun as chillin' and looking for four leaf clovers.

So cute! I'm gearing up for my two boys incessant sports -- flag football and fall baseball -- to begin.
I could never be a soccer mom. That would involve *gasp* going outside! :)
