A View To The Wreckage

What's that you say? There's a tree on our dream house?

If you look closely, you can see the beautiful matching puncture holes on the roof...

Mr. Tree had a bumpy fall

before ending up on the Tiki Idol. R.I.P. my beloved Honda...

Well, it was a great way to get to know the neighborhood...

wow! i usually look for some kind of silver lining, but i just don't see it yet - maybe that no one was in the car?

Yes - thank GOD my kids were not loaded into the car.... it was that time of the morning when I usually pile them in to leave for the day. Oh, and thankfully the tree didn't bust through Pink's ROOF. The damage is all very fixable w/o much invasiveness :) could have been WAAAAAY worse. It's just a total nusience :)

Oh, Alicia, I'm so sorry. What a nightmare. Adding my thanks that it happened to an empty car.

Wow! We had a similar event in our house in October. My mom was in the kitchen and we all heard a noise. You could see the tree coming as we looked thru the window over the sink. It hit the roof, broke in half and took out the deck railing. Minimal roof damage. The fun part was Mom grabbing her laptop off the table and running like crazy out of the kitchen.

@camera mom: Oh, id be grabbing my laptop TOO! The third thing I did in the moments after I saw the tree on my car (after crying and calling my husband) was post onto Facebook "A tree just fell on my car. For real."

Unf'ing believable -- pardon the language! I think it's fitting, though, especially given what you've been through. I always wonder why, why, why some people aren't "given a pass...!" I am glad, though, that no one was hurt (except perhaps your sanity!).

Thank God you're all OK. And thank God for insurance (I assume?)

What a horrible thing to happen, thank goodness no one was hurt!
We have some dying oak trees in the front yard I'm worried might do the same thing here someday. Time to call the tree guys!

UGH! That is horrible.
Here's hoping the next car is not another Tiki idol.

I also took picutes and posted to Facebook (they are on my profile and the album is labeled carnage!!). It happened of course right before my autistic son's birthday and my husband's friend came over asap to deal with more trees in danger of falling so as not to upset Jarrett and his friend Lauren who would not deal well with the chainsaws.

still unbelievable...pictures and all.

Holy guacamole! Seriously...haven't you had enough issues involving your car this past year? I think maybe it was harboring some really bad juju and it's a good thing you're getting a new one!
Sorry about the damage and so glad it wasn't worse.
Alright, bad luck...move on with yourself!!
