Weekend Wrap Up

So can you guess what I did THIS weekend?

I will be welcoming a new sister-in-law (and lovely one at that) into the family in a few weeks and my old ass got to go out with her 25 year old YOUNG ass for the ritual of The Bachelorette Party. A tame one, I must say, given stories you hear on the streets. No strippers, raunch or stupidity. Just lots of laughter, wine, dinner, lingerie-giving, and some embarrassing phallic drinking straws and anatomically correct confectioneries.
Though I was the oldest one there (by over 15 years to some of the girls) I am proud to say that I stayed up until midnight, drank TWO apple martinis (we wont mention the glasses of wine that weren't kept track of), and held my own in this adult rendition of Pin The Tail On The Donkey:

Ye ole "Stick The Lips On The .... ahem...."
I love how the dude on the poster is all retro.

I didn't win, but was a close second along with my OTHER sister-in-law... the vetran married chick of the group.

Am I too old for this? Probably. But it was fun. Despite the fact that it will take me 72 hours to fully recover from the hangover.

So anatomically correct confectinaries don't qualify as raunch? Tee hee.

We made and decorated penis shaped cookies at my sister's bachelorette party...so fun.

good luck with that hangover!

I didn't even know there WERE such things, shows you how old I am!

HA! Because the confectionaries were rainbow colored, they were high class... not raunch :) Oh, and they make things MUCH worse than that Carrie!!! LOL! :)

That looked like it was a blast!
I went to my first bachelorette party a couple years ago (having never had one of my own) and it was the MOST fun. But, like you said...not so fun to recover from.

I did two of these this past year. Both SIL's. Both younger. They were both a blast-after my initial, I am so damn old, minute. But, they did take DAYS to recover from.:)
Glad you had fun. Enjoy the wedding!

I don't think you are too old for having fun with the gals! And I hate how it does take longer to get over a hangover.

You are brave, though, I only drink wine and champagne now, anything else does cause a hang over...as tempting as apple martinis sound.

As another 25 year old, I think it's awesome that you went! :) I'm sure she loved having you there. FUN has no age!

PS. Sorry I've been away from your blog so long. I've been away from blogs in general since before the holidays. Hope you're doing well!

It takes me about a week to recover from one night of drinking. I'm old.
