Flying South: Part II (A Romantic Valentine's Weekend)

florida beace Pictures, Images and Photos
I wanted to send a post from Florida. A post to tell you all about reuniting with my husband (who left for a conference 2 days prior to my departure). A post showing you the beautiful, sunny skies and palm trees. To let you know our much needed little vay-cay was off without a hitch. The spell of bad luck was over and a romantic Valentine's weekend was underway. That packing up the 4 girls, driving them for a total of 5 hours to 2 different sets of grandparents all day Tuesday was all made worth it just to have a weekend away with no stress, worries, or snow. That buying a new bathing suit, spending hours packing just the right assortment of clothes, and inconveniencing the world's nicest guy for a ride to the airport in crappy, post-state-of-emergency conditions would make it all worth it.

So, here's my post with some lovely photos. A view of my world.

Don't be jealous now...

Wait... is that SNOW?

Oh, yes. That's snow. Jersey snow. Well, actually PHILLY snow. I spent a day in Philly with my sister and her family after they picked me up at the Philadelphia airport because my flight was cancelled. I love how you check your flight status from home every 5 minutes all morning long to see your flight is "On Time," then you get to the airport and "surprise!" they just cancelled your flight... along with ALL flights out of the airport. No one is going ANYwhere. And, the earliest they can get you to your beloved Floridian destination is Saturday, which would be great except we only had the trip booked until Sunday.

So, not going. Done. The romantic Valentines Day weekend away after a long 6 months will remain a pipe dream. Because that's just how we roll with the luck and all. Should I have been surprised by this????

Clearly, the Tiki Idol was not the car. Something deeper is at work. My Greek brother-in-law swears I am being given the evil eye. Apparently, I need someone to spit on me to ward it off. Someone, please, for the love of God - Spit On ME!!

Wow! I just can't believe your life. I agree with your Greek brother-in-law, someone is trying to get your attention.

I don't want to spit on you. In Mexico you can ward off the evil eye by rubbing a thing of beauty that you might envy.

I found this out after living in San Antonio about a mouth and was freaking about all the Hispanics who kept rubbing my son's head.

I am so incredibly bummed for you. Insanely. The pendulum can't possibly swing any further that way. It's gotta start heading back. I can feel it!

Oh man Alicia. That sucks. I would so spit on you if I could.

Will hubby make it back for V.D?

Yep. We're Philly suburbs. That's our snow. Flying South is sounding mighty good right now.

Bummer. Big one.
