Weekend Wrap Up

I'm not going to lie.  The tragedy at Boston in a crowd of people celebrating on a regular, ordinary day has freaked me out.  We are supposed to go into New York City next Saturday and I'm all skittish.

But in the midst of loss and horror at the Boston Marathon, I try to remember that there was also good. The human spirit at its finest.  People at their best.  Heros in the calamity.

It makes me want to venture out into the world... cautiously, sure.
You gotta bet on the good guys.

My babies are growing up in a world I sometimes don't understand with human beings I understand even less.

But they are also growing up in a world full of good.  I pray that they not just reap the benefits of that good, but contribute to it for a long, long time.

"The most authentic thing about us is our capacity to create, to overcome, to endure, to transform,
to love and to be greater than our suffering."

They will, and by the power of attraction, they will draw love and light to them and be a source of healing for others just as you are.

I love this. I, too, am so cautious these days. We talked about going into "the city" recently (DC) and I just didn't want to. I hope you enjoy NY though. Also? You always have The. Best. Photos. Awesome.
Hey also guess what? I am IRL friends with one of your IRL friends from your past - Joanna! She was reading my blog and saw you comment and told me that she went to school with you! Small world. :)

@Kristi - No way!! Yes, we went to grad school together but just for one year before she transferred. She knew my husband better from being in a Masters program together before that. SMALL World for SURE!
